STRESS WILL GO TO HELL; jyotish the remedy

Now days everything and anything is correlated and the marginal gap between success and failure have made people tense. Survival has become the most tedious act but however all cannot commit suicide. The race against time has always been and will always be consistent but in the present times few more races have added to survival and have made the people to exhaust at a very younger age. We are viciously caught between presumption and assumption. We just anticipate and all are having great expectations from life. It is the proven fact that when we have great expectations we receive discomfort. The struggle of life is not only centered to people who are bread earners, but surprisingly it has penetrated to the tender age bracket of our children. They are in fatigue and their innocent childhood is being squeezed under the heavy loads of books and the race of percentage, which is increasing at an alarming rate. Many tumble down or rather have mentally grown up to decide the fact to commit suicide.

Internet a window to outer world, knowledge, learning, experience, etc has also narrowed the gap between life and death. The people in distress around the globe are joining to same caliber ones at an ease and are running numerous suicides sites, to which parents in the western world are worried about. You log on to the site and in the chat room many criminals–one who are planning to commit suicide or instigate the more depressed of their kind to help them commit this sin–are always online. It was few years ago that the parents had time to sit with children and discuss life with them but now they hardly do it due to their own stressful life. The loneliness and the gap in understanding have led the children to a life of Stress. All have been discussing the word stress without getting to the roots of it, as to where this word came from?

Stress is resultant of all the interrogatives, derived from the 5 Ws—who, what, when, where, why? On commencing a work we think what will we do? What will we be the outcome and so on which germinates the virus of stress and slowly we fall prey to this killer disease.

Stress is the unnecessary worry of the unseen future as investigator rather than performing our assigned duty at a given point of time, which is in present. Lord Krishna said, “Perform your duty with generosity and forget what will be the outcome of that particular duty”.

Stress is an inbound force in a human being which can lead a person to the threshold of life. It is the out come of distress, failure, agony, etc. It is a process which gets into our life as virus gets into our computers.

Stress can be minimised if we change our thought process and find correlation even in the opposites provided in a given language. E.g. open is opposite to close but the different angle is that we are open only to the person we are close with. Thus both the words are very positive in nature and have relation even being opposites.

To believe in God and His supreme power is the most important fact in life which eradicates the entire negatives from life. Hazrat Ali said, 'Nakami, nakami nahi, balke kamyabi mein takhir ka dusra naam hai,' which means failure is not really failure but it is synonym of delay in success.

Stress management is a new theory coming up around the globe to curb the stress virus–unlike the virus removing software companies which sometime produces viruses for their goodwill and marketing gimmick–is confusing the common public at large.

At the seminar conducted on Stress, stars and success by Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS) Noida chapter, Dr. Najma Heptulla said, 'all the people are in hurry and this leads to accidents which is not only through vehicles but it can happen with life also, which is more fatal'. She further added that all the planets are following their respective path and they dare never to change path or speed, if they change it, it will lead to fatal accident. Thus all the people must follow the track demarcated for them in life and this will lead to a stress free life'. She also said, “We should have faith in our ancient sciences and try to act according to it for a happy life. Sleep is one of the most important factors to make your body at ease and to provides satisfaction to the physical stress but if we are looking for euphoria then yoga is the best thing to do”. On the question that she believes in astrology, she said, 'yes that is the reason why she is here. All the religions have prayers for a stress free life but one has to follow it with honesty'. Putting to the humorous–at which she is very good–she said, “I have been in the Parliament for the span of 17 years dealing the top brains of India and the only thing which made me do and still remain alive is the search of the humorous angle to the situation and not getting into any stress”.

Justice S N Kapoor said, 'ambitions should be controlled to lead a stress free life. Other factor that lead to stress are jealousy, hatred which one should control'. He also mentioned the factor which can help a person to star business by studying the horo charts of his employees. John Victor shared his seven years experience in his struggles to remove stress from the common people. Shri M N Kedar said, 'stress is can be controlled through horo reading and mantra recital'.

We should be proud to be an Indian where we have remedies for all the physical and spiritual problems. Stress managers say that meditation is the most important remedy to control stress. But this remedy can be prescribed to the people who have developed stress, but we Indians have one important barometer which can tell us before hand regarding the development of any disease in the coming future. Through jyotish we can read the lagan chart of a person and profess regarding the problem to come in a particular human life and provide remedial measures to prevent them from disasters. For all stress UCCHARAN of OM is the best remedy, and for this you consult your family jyotish guru.

After the trial camp conducted by Indian Council of Astrological Science–Noida Chapter–to control stress among the tender students, other institutions have started to experiment the same and the Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow is making a data base of their students for their personality development through jyotish. But the incident of removing stress from the children at River Dale Academy where the students were made to walk on broken glass and burning coal is something very drastic and cruel. We have to find measures to save the future of India now otherwise it will be too late. Remember that dictionary is the only place where reward comes before success, but for this mission all have to join hands with a positive thinking. (by N Naqvi)

Sleep is the remedy for all the diseases!

Sleep is the most important and the most interesting act of a human life. It is said that the new born babies increase in their size to about a centimeter while in they are sleeping. But when we grow old this act provides us rest physically. It is also proven fact that the brain is still working while one is asleep may be not to its full capacity. It was in a competition conducted in US where to make a record of being awake for the most hours constantly. A person clown by profession stayed awake for seven days in continuation. It was for him a record breaking act which made him sleep for next four day in sequence. On the last day of his record breaking act he was not able to speak or recognize any thing. So it is proven that sleep is the most important thing in our live.

“Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise” is an old saying which seem to be changing in the present time. The people working in the corporate have heavy pay packets but they sleep for less than 6 hours to achieve what they desire at the end of the month.

Sleep disorder is a problem when we are not able to fulfill the required parameters which our body needs for rest through sleep. The people employed in the corporate sectors are under pressure to achieve the targets within the required time frame. This leads to tension, stress, discomfort, psychological stress, etc which are the direct outcomes of sleeplessness. According to Dr. Gupta, “Sleep is the only way where a person is free from his/her fatigue. But the youngsters who work for late hours without taking due rest reduce their work ability to about 40% which they cannot understand while they are young. It is exertion which leads to increase in the blood pressure as while you are in a regular thought process the brain requires more of blood and as the heart has to pump more vigorously, it develops wearing and leads to cardiac problems”. Further elaborating on the required time of sleep he added that a normal person must sleep for about 6 hour that too a sound one. One must drop all the tension and work load as he/she changes clothes while going to bed.

According to Healthcare Status report brought out by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), about 24 percent of corporate employees sleep less than 6 hours in a day due to high stressed levels that arise out of tough targets set for themselves by employers and cause diseases like hypertension, sugar, stress, cardiac problems and many more.

“Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise” are still the golden words which can make a person to enjoy his life to the brim because, “When money is lost: something is lost, when honour is lost: much is lost but when health is lost: everything is lost. (by N Naqvi)

Book returns to library after 221 years

When you realize your mistake then the punishment is to be pardoned. But it is always the learning for the people, from the mistakes of the others, which is different in case of children. When we say to our kids, “don’t do this, it is something bad,” we get a quick reply. I asked my nephew not to keep the book of his school library for an overdue period to which he replied, “Why if I forget then I am committing a mistake and when a noted personality does it, it becomes news”. This statement made me quiet and the inspiration to pen this article came in.

A book titles ‘The Law of Nations’ was borrowed by the first President of America George Washington on Oct 5, 1789, from the New York Society Library authored by Emer de Vattel.

The whole of the episode came to light when the officials of the library were restoring its 1789-1792 charging ledger. This ledger featured the borrowing history of a number of public figures and Washington being one of them.

The news spread to Mount Vernon Estate, Washington’s home and the replica of the book was offered by the estate that too of the same edition. The library staff is glad to receive the book back even after a span of 221 years and still the book is in a good condition to be place on the shelves of the library.

On the eve of receiving of the errant volume the library staff organized a ceremony where chairman of the board Mr. Charles Berry said, “I hereby absolve George Washington and his representatives for any overdue library fee incurred”. He further said, “We are delighted to learn that the errant copy was on the way back to it’s shelf even after 221 years and the fine is not important the having the book back”.

When the calculation regarding the due were made the library staff was astonished at the amount which came to be US$ 300,000 (Rs. 1,50,00,000).

“The first President of America George Washington might have forgotten to return the book as he was a busy man,” I said to my nephew. He agreed to the statement but what should I say to his comment that mistake is a mistake then why the library has waived the late fine? By Nadeem Naqvi

Father of the ATM: India formula

It has been so easy to move to the market without money and credit card in your pocket and still do the shopping of your choice. The statement may sound strange but it is true when you have an ATM card in your pocket.

Before 1967 when people used to buy chocolates from the vending machines a man thought that will it be possible to get money on the similar basis. The thought was a revolution.

On fine day when John Shepherd-Barron reached his bank, bit late, he was not given the money and this insult made him to work on the Automated Teller Machine, now known as ATM.

John Adrian Shepherd-Barron was a Scottish inventor was born on 23 June 1925 in Shillong, Assam (now in Meghalaya) India. His father Wilfred Shepherd-Barron was the chief engineer of the Chittagong Port Commissioners. He was promoted to be the chairman of the Port of London Authority and then became the President of the Institute of Civil Engineers. His mother Dorothy was an Olympic tennis player and champion of the Wimbledon Ladies doubles segment.

He completed his early education from Stowe School and then joined University of Edinburgh and Trinity College, Cambridge. During World War II, he was commissioned into the Airborne Forces and served the 159th Parachute Light Regiment.

He joined Da La Rue Instruments in 1960s and this was the time he came up with the concept of the money dispensing machine. The first machine of this kind was installed outside Enfield, north London, branch of Barclay’s Bank on June 27. 1967.

The Shepherd-Barron dispenser actually predated the introduction of the plastic card with its magnetic strip: the machines used special cheques which had been impregnated with a radioactive compound of carbon-14, which was detected and matched against the personal identification number (PIN) entered on a keypad. A proposed PIN length of 6 digits was rejected and 4 digits chosen instead, because it was the longest string of numbers that his wife could remember.

The four digit pin was finalized when Shepherd-Barron asked his wife to by heart his army code number which was of six digits. When he asked her to recall the number she could remember only the four digits and the two were out of her memory, this made him to finalise the pin of the ATM to be in four digits which every person can remember easily.

He is survived by his son Nicholas Shepherd-Barron FRS, who is professor of Algebraic Geometry at the University of Cambridge. John Adrian Shepherd-Barron died on 15th May 2010 at the age of 84 in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, Scotland.

It is also said that there is a link between ATM and Srinivas Ramanujan—A mathematical genius of India. When you put your debit or credit card in the machine and order the machine to dispense the amount of your desire the machine divides and arranges your money before dispensing it, using Ramanujan’s partition theory, which is as:

A partition of a positive integer n is just an expression for n as a sum of positive integers, regardless of order. Thus p(4) = 5 because 4 can be written as 1+1+1+1, 1+1+2, 2+2, 1+3, or 4. The problem of finding p(n) was studied by Euler, who found a formula for the generating function of p(n) (that is, for the infinite series whose nth term is p(n)xn). While this allows one to calculate p(n) recursively, it doesn't lead to an explicit formula. Hardy and Ramanujan came up with such a formula (though they only proved it works asymptotically; Rademacher proved it gives the exact value of p(n))

But this is a topic which we think someone will prove some day but for me it is something very important that one of the India brain has given the world a formula which is being used around the globe. (by N Naqvi)

The destiny I dreamt about! Javed Akhtar

Desires are the dreams of a human-being. The weaker ones are unable to fulfill their desires but the ones who walk in the journey of life like a soldier convert their desires as destiny. A person having pen as his earning medium for about seven generations in his family started his journey from the famous city of Gwalior moving to the city of culture–Lucknow–and then to the city of learning—Aligarh. Aligarh famous of the manufacturing of locks and its University result of the devotional efforts of Maulana Azad. From this city he locked the learning in his percipient brain and moved to the city of Bhopal and then to the city of dreams–Mumbai–and then finally to the Parliament of the biggest democracy of the world.

On the 17 day of the year which was two years before the year of Independence a child was born in the famous city of Gwalior to the family of Jan Nisar Akhtar lyricist and Urdu poet and singer Safia Akhtar a teacher and writer. The birth name given to this child of the independence year was Jadoo—the miracle. But this was changed by the closest synonym Javed. The lineage to this Jadoo Javed Akhtar, connects to Muzter Khairabadi his grandfather–a milestone in Urdu poetry–where as he is also connected to Maulana Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi–philosopher, poet, religious scholar and who was one of the main figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, who also edited the first works of Famous Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib–and also to Majaz who was his maternal uncle.

The initial life of this famous and now among the 50 most Powerful people of India as rated by India Today, was full of tragedies. The first school for a person i.e. the mother’s lap was snatched from this towering personality at a very younger age and thus he had to spend his life in the homes of his relatives as his father was in Bombay penning lyrics as his livelihood. He was made to move to Lucknow the city where he had his earlier education. At the age of eight he was addmited to the famous Lucknow-Calvin Talukadat College to class six at a monthly fee of Rs. 17 (very expensive in those days). This college was on where the sons of the aristocracy were to study. He was often scolded by his by his grandfather, “At least you pass your matriculation, and you may find a job stamping letters in a post office”. It was in these days that young Javed dreamt of becoming rich when he will grow up.

He was made to part from his other sibling and taken to Aligarh at the age of fourteen and there he was admitted to class nine at Minto Circle School. In his teen Javed was attracted to the fiction world of Indian cinema. He loved the songs and was more interested in them rather than the usual book of school. He was not allowed to listen to the songs at home but he used to sing them along the way to home from school. On the other hand he was more interested in the novels and used to find them interesting. Peer group for him were the students of the University who were elder to him as his school was near the university. He did not find harmony in his age group. His love for the Urdu language made him to represent his school at all the mushaira–Urdu poetry programme–conducted at the university level, where he was the most listened one due to his award winning poetry. This made him popular at the university level and all the elder started to recognise him. For his matriculation he had to bid farewell to Aligarh towards Bhopal.

It is the life that teaches a person in the early age and all which he deals with becomes his foundation on which his later life stands as rock. On getting to Bhopal Javed had to stay with his step mother and soon tasted the vinegar. Reasons known to God, he moved to stay with one of his friend who happened to be his unknown benefactor. Bhopal was somewhat a place for Javed where he faced problems, having seen the worst time, but the desire to become rich was burning in him and this made him to strive ahead. He won the Rotary Club Prize for three years in a row in debate. His flair for debating made him to travel to Delhi representing Vikram University at the National Youth Festival. In the college election this keen and brilliant speaker was in demand for both the parties and happens to the only person–probably in the history–to do canvassing for both the candidates contesting for a particular post.
In the eight month of his last teen year Javed landed in his dreamland, Bombay on 4th October 1964. He had to face the music of this city of illusions but still clinging to his childhood dream of becoming a rich person on day. He started to write dialogues for just Rs. 100. City of Bombay made grilled the personality of this writer and the impurities parted which is the process of cleaning gold. He came across the dusted Filmfare trophies with which he used to fantasies and practice, behind the close door, his wining the same one day. For a quiet longer time Javed had to face the cruel lashes from the city of dreams. He was offered to do ghost writing for a person who promised him salary of Rs. 600. To this kind of a job and the repercussions and the future showed only darkness and the end of being lost in the crowd without being rich made him to turn down the offer. The span of five years made the personality of Javed a rock one and thus the day came and the Midas touch worked. Goddess Lakshmi started nearing him and resultant in his first house, his car and then meeting Honey Irani at the set of film—Seeta aur Geeta. It is true that when He–the Almighty–pay heeds to your efforts things start to change drastically and same started to happen with Javed. In the forth month of meeting Honey Irani both were married and the next two year made them proud parents of daughter Zoya and a son Farhan.

Yakeen was one of the early films which he had scripted to be a flop. His association with Salim Khan became a turning point in his life and both jointly–Salim Javed–wrote many blockbusters—Andaz, Seeta aur Geeta, Sholay and Don. Javed used to write in Urdu and the Hindi of the same was done by his assistant, and the one liner was written in English by other person. His life change a bit when his father died on 18th August 1976, making him to realize as to what he is doing in the film industry as his father was a successful lyricist. It was in the year 1980 that he started to use his inherited genes of writing lyrics in the film industry. Since then, there has been no turning point in his life but the only change was that of Honey Irani replaced by Shabana Azmi.

Javed Akhtar was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1999 and received the Padma Bhushan in 2007. Akhtar has also won the Filmfare Award fourteen times, seven times for Best Script, and seven times for Best Lyrics for "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha..." in 1942-A Love Story, "Ghar Se Nikalte Hi..." for Papa Kahte Hain, "Sandese Aate Hain...." for Border, "Panchhi Nadiyan Pawan Ke Jhonke..." for Refugee, "Radha Kaise Na Jale" for Lagaan, "Kal Ho Na Ho" for Kal Ho Na Ho , "Tere Liye..." for Veer-Zaara and "Jashn-e-Bahara" for Jodhaa Akbar.

Akhtar has won the National Award five times. In 1996 he won for Best Lyricist for the film Saaz and in 1997 he won the National Award forBorder. He again won the National Award in 1998 for Godmother. In 2000 he again won the National Award for the song "Panchhi Nadiyan Pawan Ke Jonke..." from the film Refugee and in 2001 for "Radha Kaise Na Jale" from Lagaan.

He has won the 1995 and 1997 Screen Videocon Awards. He also won first Zee Award for Best Lyricist for "Sandese Aate Hain" from the film Border. He was awarded a Videocon Screen award as well as a Zee Lux Cine award for "Panchhi Nadiyan Pawan Ke Jhonke..." for Refugee.

In 2001 Akhtar received the "National Integration Award" from the All India Anti-Terrorist Association and the Avadh Ratan from the U.P. Government. He also won the 2003 Hakim Khan Sur Sammaan Award from the Maharana Mewar Foundation, Udaipur.

It was on the 20th April 2010 that the towering personality of Javed Akhtar was facilitated on becoming the member of Rajya Sabha, by the President–Sirajuddin Qureshi–of the Indian Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi. He was presented with the honorary membership to the cultural center and speaking on the occasion Mr. Sirajuddin said, “It is indeed honour to have Mr. Javed Akhtar in the parliament who has the courage to voice the needs and the desires of the common people on the floor of the house”. On the eve of the occasion, Javed said that he has paved his way to the biggest house in the Indian democracy. He said, “As the people have appreciated his lyrics and dialogues, it will be his honest endeavor to speak on the floor of the house as the representative the common Indian”. “I have now the proper place to deliver my thoughts as an Indian for the benefit on the people and thus help India to become more beautiful,” he further added.

The people gathered on the occasion were lucky enough to see a very different face of philosopher Javed Akhtar. During his speech he described the relationship between two people as one should be caution with the person who say goody about you and never objects to your lesser ability. The person should never be trusted upon and he can never be a good friend of your. One must approve to dissension and this can only help a person to understand his weak points which only a true friend can indicate to you. He said that we are a part of a community where we have people of different ideologies, thought process, myths etc. All the communities must believe in openness and start to respect to the feeling of the other, and Build bridges instead of wall and you will have a friend, which is the key factor to the progress of India. He said, “It is evil to vulgarize or disseminate person or region without any rime or reason”. “This process leads to hatred and thus hampers the progress of the nation on the whole,” he further added. “We all must sit and understand each other and find an amicable solution for all the problems,” he said. “We people sometimes become heard liners and this leads only to confutation and this should be stopped. Now I am at a place where I can voice your thoughts and find the solutions to the problems to the prevailing problems, which are genuine and honest,” he concluded to the end.
Javed on stage and the people don’t get the nectar of his poetry has never and will never happen. He recited his much loved sestet, ‘Woh kamra yaad aata hai’. Now being the part of the Indian political arena he also respected the demand from the public in the hall and recited another famous couplet which is also the title of this article ‘Kabhi jo Khaab tha woh paliya hai; magar jo kho gai woh cheez kya thi’.
